What happened

A year of covers,
one evolving visual language.

Artist, photographer and creative director Camila Schubert was commissioned to conceive and execute a full year of covers for Standart Magazine’s international and Japanese editions.

Across successive issues, Schubert developed an evolving editorial language around coffee as culture, ritual and human encounter, giving each cover its own visual world while maintaining continuity across the series.

How Gallery Dod delivered it

Every issue stands alone.
The series holds together.

An editorial cover has to work immediately, but a year-long commission also has to develop. Each image needed its own palette, character and point of view while remaining part of a recognisable sequence.

The resulting covers moved between portraiture, still life and constructed scenes, using coffee as a recurring thread rather than a repeated visual formula.
